  • Sendias Christmas Celebration

    Families are invited to join the Walsall SENDIAS Christmas celebration event, with festive fun and sensory activities - on Monday 12th December 2022 at Manor Farm Community Centre, WS4 1EU. 5.00pm-7.00pm.

     

    All places must be booked in advance

     

    Since 2009 Family Action has run an annual Christmas Toy Appeal, where through the generosity of companies and community groups across the country, we’re able to deliver gifts to the children and young people who use our services.

    This year is no exception and we are delighted to share that Walsall SENDIAS will be distributing free Christmas gifts to children and young people at this event.

  • Walsall College Healthy Lifestyle course

    Walsall College will be hosting a *free Healthy Lifestyle Workshop for anyone looking to eat healthier and look at new ways of exercising!

     

    These fun sessions will take place at the Sandbank WATMOS Estate in Bloxwich and is open for adults (aged 19+) to attend!

     

    Head down to these sessions every Thursday from 10th November – 15th December to take part in activities and get advice on topics that include:

     

    Nutrition & day-to-day healthy eating

    Good food on a budget & practical recipe making

    Hints & tips to lifestyle changes

    Light exercise activities

     

    These sessions will take place from 1.00pm – 2.30pm and the venue is located at:

     

    Sandbank WATMOS, Community Room in Cartwright House, Bloxwich, WS3 2HF

    Walsall College has an Open Day taking place on Thursday 17th November for anyone looking to start a new course, or just see what is on offer!

     

    Whether you are leaving school or are an adult (aged 19+) looking to up-skill or learn a new hobby, pop along to one of our campuses between 4pm – 8pm and see what we have available!

     

    We have a great range of qualifications and courses, including full-time, part-time and home based learning, as well as Apprenticeships and higher education courses – even access to higher education courses for people wanting to go to university but who don’t have a Level 3 qualification!

  • Free Introduction to Warehousing Logistics & Forklift Truck Licence

    Walsall College has a *free ‘Introduction to Warehousing Logistics & Forklift Truck Licence’ short course with Tes Amm to support people back into work!

     

    This short course takes place at our Cannock Campus from 14th November – 9th December for 12 days, from 9.30am – 4pm and also includes 8 days of work experience with Tes Amm!

     

    The aim of this course is to support applicants into warehousing and distribution roles with Tes Amm, an organisation who work closely with many global IT service providers and international businesses as a competent and reliable IT lifecycle service provider.

     

    As a Warehouse Operative you will specialise in working with consumer electronics. You will be responsible for various production tasks and fast-paced targets. The role is varied and challenging as there are many duties required. Planning is critical and being calm and collected in a pressured environment is essential. Whilst on this programme we can support you with the development of your CV and interview skills to ensure you are promoting all of your skills, qualities and attributes to give you the best opportunity for a successful progression into employment.

     

    As well as 8 days of work experience with Tes Amm, you will also be able to gain a Level 1 Award in Introduction to employment in warehousing and storage and a Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in the workplace upon completion of the course.
